I bought my Jeep on April 12th of 2024. I still haven't done my first oil change. I think I may have 2,300 miles on the Jeep. According to the service interval, I can change oil at 12-month intervals as long as I don't go over the mileage recommendation.

I've got two free oil changes. Does anyone know if the dealer will give me the oil and filter? Or do I have to let them change the oil?

Generally no, they will not give it to you. They have to bill it out against a Jeep Wave service dealer visit for reimbursement from corporate. There is liability to them if they give you the stuff but invoice it that they did the service.

That's kind of what I figured, but I thought it was worth looking into. If I remember correctly, my dealer doesn't allow customers to schedule appointments for oil changes. Instead, it's first come, first served.

I bought an extended warranty yesterday and was surprised to see that they added two more oil changes and tire rotations. So a $300 value. That makes me happy.

No way. The first Wave oil change went down like this:
6 quarts of 5W-20; then the said they couldn’t do the tire rotation because they couldn’t find the lock. I went and dug it out of the glove box where I told them it was all along. Three hours for a 45 minute job. Plus, they set the tires to 37 psi so after driving they’re up to 40+. So I had to bleed them down. The oil level is okay and I’ll keep the 5W-20 until the next change. Then I’ll go back to my local guy who’s been servicing my vehicles for 30 years. Wish I could get under but spinal fusion has its limitations.

Check-Raise: 7 quarts of oil (even put it on the invoice) and mentioned that the tire rotation wasn’t necessary because they are “wearing evenly”. I told him that’s why they get rotated. They ended up rotating them.

Bottom line, if you’re excited about the prospect of getting 18-21 quarts of oil for the price of 15, sign up.

Dealers around here have very low regard for customer intelligence. Trying to put it politely but, they really don’t give a f__k.

It depends on the dealer. Mine included a full inspection with printed results.
Jeep Only used to be my go to, and then they changed the entire service team...
