I too was/am worried about the weight capacity of the tailgate. Seems super light. Doubt my Polaris Sportsman XP1000 would fit width-wise and the sheer weight across the tailgate is worrisome.

Looks like spec about the same. Yours is 50lb heavier...

With all my gear, my PO1000 is around 1100 pounds and I'm running slightly larger tires. Dry unloaded weight on the PO1000 is something like 860 pounds. I have a decent amount of accessories (winch + TigerTail, 4Gal RotoPax Fuel pack) and gear..

It’s better to have a trailer to haul your atv around because I have saw people break their back glass out of their truck not good

Yeah, I have a two place ATV trailer and I've busted the glass once on my RAM3500 when I hit a massive bump and the straps flexed, allowing the front of the ATV to make contact with the back glass.

For me, its just easier to haul in the bed where and when possible.

Jeep Customer Care on this forum posted the weight limits for the tailgate in a thread once. The numbers were surprising. You'll never break the tailgate with an ATV.

Take a 4 by 4 and put it in front of front tires this way your atv will not run into the back window. I wonder if anyone makes a small utility box of the same size which can be used to store straps as well as create that extra stop for the cargo ATV

That ramp and bed-without-wheel-humps combo does look pretty sweet for hauling toys with wheels (ATVs, motorcyles, etc.) ...
not a jeep
