Help having issues with my key fob. I replaced the battery one month ago and already the 2020 Jeep gladiator says key fob not detected. Is this normal. Now I have to push the button with the fob to start. Do I need a new fob?

My battery died after a year put in a new one and was good to go. Could be a fob issue or did you use maybe a cheap battery ??

FOB might be fine. It's possible you partially killed the new battery when you installed it by grabbing the negative and positive sides of the battery. Just a thought. It's hard grabbing those suckers without grabbing the flat sides. I would install a new battery and make sure you don't grab both poles and see how long it lasts then.

My 2020 JT keyfob would not work, dealer said battery and replaced it without testing battery. The battery tested fine and no low keyfob battery warning on the dash. Later after 2 1/2 days at the dealer they claim the Tazer mini I have is the reason for key fob failure.
I do not think its the Tazer. Tazer was "Unmarried" when I took it in but not removed which could interfere with diagnostics.

I do IT stuff so I can buy Jeep stuff.
Make sure you aren't putting your key fob somewhere that one or more of the buttons are constantly being pressed. I ran into this with my previous vehicle - I had the fob on a key ring and the bottle opener next to it constantly pressed one of the buttons while in my pocket. This killed the batteries pretty quickly until I figured out what was happening.

Replaced fob battery with a duracell, continue to have issues. Occurs with both fobs and is intermittent.

Make sure there no other items around/near the fob jamming the signal, such as a cell phone or other item.

I get an almost constant IR signal jam when parked at my workplace. Inconsistent remote starting has been an issue for many other employees as well. It is a huge parking lot, so we move around to different spots to make our remotes work a little better.

Everyone says that once they leave the lot, all remote functions operate as they should. It's been a head scratcher for a couple of years now. ?‍♂

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Just started happening in multiple locations. Happened at a dealership. When I scheduled the appointment regarding this, the said that they had no idea why this happens. Needless to say, they did no research and left my vehicle there for a day for nothing.

Our remote FOB's work on a 433.92 Mhz frequency. That same frequency is also used in some building structure alarm systems. Possible those alarm systems are a higher power rating to be stepping on a vehicle FOB's transmit signal.

FCC frequency device allotment around the 433 Mhz range is in a lot of consumer and commercial use products.

This is not a thing.
