I have been chasing down a wind noise with my hardtop and noticed this gap on the windshield header seal. The seal at the top of the windshield where the freedom tops seat against.

I taped over these gaps and it sounded better when I drove around, closer to the Jeep noise I had on my JK.

Does anyone else have a gap like this, hopefully I took good photos, there is one on both sides about an inch away from those little fin things.

If this is the problem I will either go to the dealer for a new seal or buy a new seal myself or maybe just apply the black silicone. Thanks

This is random because its old. But I am chasing a noise down too. Did you get this fixed?

I don't remember doing anything with it, I'd be curious what the new ones have going on as they are advertised as being quieter.

@93civej1 thinks it might be this gap in the center lower windshield gasket.

yeah. i checked my top seal earlier when I went to reseat the freedom panels just to see if that could be it. Was first time taking them off since purchasing 2 weeks ago. I have taped over the bottom gap to see if theres any difference when I go to drive later. Will report back.

What about going to your local Safelite or other window place and buying them a cup of coffee to pick their brains? They've had to have heard hundreds of instances of post install wind noise. Heck they may even have TSBs on the Jeeps.

No difference after being taped and driving. So apparently is not that lower gap.

Noticed this morning I now have a whistle of if I back up quickly instead of slowly. Assuming it’s from the same problem area but not completely sure.
