Heat CRANKS on "Hi" setting but goes cool at 84º or under?

The heat wave finally broke in the Northeast and I've been using the heater in the mornings/evenings when I have the freedom panels or front doors off...noticed a few times that when I turn up the heater to "Hi", it cranks heat no problem. But the moment I drop it down 1º from Hi to 84º...it goes cool, to like 70-72º. This can't be right...what's likely my issue here? The A/C button is NOT selected. Checking the offroad settings, all the engine/oil temps seem to be in the normal range.

Similar problem here. From HI setting, the temperature will only decrease when I go all the way down to low. Even from HI to 65, it blows hot air.
Did you have this looked into?

Note, the following reply is general, and NOT gladiator specific. In my experiece, these "auto" climate controls in modern vehicles are pretty dumb. They have a thermometer in the vehicle, which reads temp. Lets say your vehicle is 32F inside in the morning, you get in, in your jacket, and are freezing, so you pump the heat. When it gets to around 50F, you start to be "comfortable" since you're in your jacket. However, the climate systems are programmed to reach the desired temp (lets say you set it to 70F) as fast as possible....so, even if its 65F inside the vehicle, the car will still blow hot air since you asked it to give you 70F, so it needs hot air and to get it there fast.....so it blows hot air. Once it reaches the desired temp, it will tone the air down, but not until it reaches that temp. I am NOT sure if the gladiator climate control works that way, but many vehicles do.
