Izzy is parked in the garge and my husband notices a stone inbetween the lugs. It’d been there a while. It was worn smooth and level with the lugs (OEM wildpeaks). He can’t resist but to grab a screwdriver to pick it out. Much to his surprise, the rock was like a mini sharks tooth with pointy end in the rubber.

I’m not losing air…..
Should I be concerned?
Luckily, this is right in the middle of the tire, so a ‘patch’ would be sufficient when/if needed.

In order to avoid an air loss catastrophe while driving, do you think having a patch installed now would be beneficial? Or not worth it?
That’s gonna drive me crazy knowing it could get a flat tire at any given moment.
I don‘t know anything about what tires are made of….to know either way.
Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't have any worry of it. I would say that there is a better chance of picking up a screw somewhere else and causing a leak.

Those wild peaks are thick...very thick. Very unlikely anything other than superficial scar to it

Hard to tell the size from the picture but judging it compared to the sipe channels it's small and not deep. I wouldn't have any issues running it like that. I agree with Daniel, just a cosmetic scar.

It’s not something to overly worry about but if it’s something that sticks in your mind get the Jeep into Le Schwab and have them take a look. They’ve done free plugs on my tires in the past if and when they could. A lot of other tire places do that as well. If I’m ever in doubt I pull it into one of them. They’re the experts. I’m just the user. I trust their judgement most times.
