Hello all. Need help. Took off the top for the first time and when I put it all back on it sounds horrible. It pops, cracks and creaks. When I've taken the freedom panels off and reinstalled it was ok. But when I took the whole top off it SUCKS. Any help please

Go back and tighten all your bolts. Their too loose.
I tighten mine inside out.

Start with the two in the middle, the next two then outside two. Then tighten the two up top.

as stated above work from the inside out. try to get them torqued the same. That's all it takes to get it to quiet down. ;)

I've got a fiberglass vibration (not a creak or pop) and it sounds like it's coming from the section above the sound bar? anyone jam some weatherstripping on top of the bar?

There are two rubber half circle grommets above the sound bar that the top sits on to dampen vibration. They are usually on there pretty good but can come off if hit just right. Check to make sure you've got all the rubber feet / grommets in place.

Mine was the bolt right over the driver's head. so annoying. It was doing it right off the lot and I was scared it was a design flaw I was gonna have to McGyver to get rid of!

I had that and found that one of the 2 bolts on the roof section covered by the freedom tops was not tightened completely. Tightened it down and sound disappeared.

(probably a stupid question since it might be in the manual) what torque spec to use for the roof bolts? I've loosened/tightened it once but I didn't tighten it real tight

I use a drill with a torque clutch set to 5 and just snug them up. Nothing crazy as it's fiberglass but not loose.

The rubber weather seal around the top back corners of my rear doors squeak/creak/rattle. Just found out last night by accident. Pushed on them to make sure the door was shut. I’m gonna lube them today.

I just took mine off and put it back on after installing my front and rear dash cam.

No squeaks, rattles or jiggles after installing center out and making sure the rubber U's and foam pads are still there.

I can't say my doors have ever squeaked. If they did, I would check to make sure the freedom panels and top are not shifting.

torqued bolts to spec and it didn’t solve my vibration, it almost sounds like it’s coming from the rear window section

my 2020 max tow didn’t do this, but I had different tires (wonder if this is just product of that)

under 40 mph, no sounds, nothing, but when I get up to highway speed the vibration shows up

your top vibrates? That’s a whole other problem than the original pops and creaks you asked about.

I'm not the OP, I latched onto the thread because there isn't much posted about freedom top noises

it's been hard for me to describe the noise, it's...a fiberglass noise ?‍♂ I really wanted to just know if what I hear is normal
