I hope this is the proper place. Been lurking for a while after I bought my used 21 Mojave. I traded my 17 Taco. The Taco has had its share of recalls, but was a pretty reliable little truck. From my understanding, V6 Tacomas are no longer manufactured. Oh well, things change.
Honestly have zero regrets. I just like the Jeep deal; seems to fit my personality better. I smile when I get in to take it for a drive. At 59 years old, I believe that's a pretty relevant aspect.
With 24k miles, it seems to have zero issues except the third brake light burning out.
The Mojave does seem to ride better than my past Wranglers. Not sure if it's the shocks or wheelbase. It also does fairly well on mpg. Maybe 1 mpg less than my previous truck on avg. It generally shows around a 17 average.
I don't do much off roading, but I like to have the option. I mainly like the overall appearance and the feel when driving it.
I've been following the cam issues since finding this forum. Jeep isn't the only company with these problems. It seems that some BMW 1250 engines also have some "soft cams". I guess that is the world we live in.
I am also a little concerned about the very random fire issues some owner's have experienced. My Mojave is a "hangar queen". It is in the garage when I'm not driving it. I don't put a ton of miles on since I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home most of the time. Fingers crossed!!
Anyway-nice to meet everyone.
