Sorry to hear that. Is that a '69 Roadrunner in your pic. If so my brother had one that ran very hard on the streets Pasadena back in the day. Had a Kieth Black Built 383 with a beefed up Tourqueflite. Not much touched it.Terry,
I've since taken it to a body shop.....the bolt was snapped flush so there was nothing to grab......they are going to try the torch/EZ out method on Monday AM......Hopefully, that will work, if not, they are going to need to get more "agressive" (expensive). The guy seemed pretty positive they could fix it.....I'd REALLY hate for them to cut a "window" in the body mount, but, if that's the only option....I guess I don't have much of a choice
The Mojave sliders don't attach like the OP's Rock sliders and are super easy to do you will be just fineI bought a set of take off sliders from a Mojave and they have been sitting in my garage since October basically because I am lazy. I assumed it was a simple bolt on situation that couldn’t get me into any real trouble other than possibly knicking The paint if I’m not careful. Will I be touching bolts that have anything to do with the body? I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I bought these because in my mind they will make the bottom of the truck seem finished and I was too cheap to buy steps. I paid $100. Any advice is appreciated
Thanks. Is your name a nod to one of the best songs of my childhood St Elmos Fire? The Mojave sliders don't attach like the OP's Rock sliders and are super easy to do you will be just fine
ha no it’s my first name and part of my last and I’m a JrThanks. Is your name a nod to one of the best songs of my childhood St Elmos Fire?
Im blown away by the lack of pictures in this forum... Not just this thread/issue, but in general.I snapped the bolt while backing out the forward most body mount bolt trying to install my Rock Hard sliders......there is approximately 2" of bolt left in there.....what next ? I've got the bolt drilled, but not all the way thru....I'm so pissed and upset, .I want to fuckin' puke !!!2020 JT
Yes, that's my '68 Roadrunner.....been on and off with a complete resto for the last 20 years.....but I kinda lost interest....I'd sell her for $30K. Numbers matching car/motor/tranny with 29K original miles.....not a 100 point showcar, but shes rustfree, and super clean...new paint and $1000's in new partsSorry to hear that. Yeah, so now we have a hardened steel lump in the middle of the soft steel surrounded by the threads we have to save. Nope, don't know what you're talking about, no idea. What really sucks is when the ez out breaks off in the bolt. Don't ask me how I know this.
