2020 JT Key-FOB replacement question

Wifey lost one of me FOBs, looking for advice/info re a replacement (see att). Does the pictured part# appear correct (for me 2020 Sport S)? And, will I have to take it to a dealer for any programming, cutting, etc? Thx in advance!

the key should come laser cut, it was that way for me from the dealer. i could trace one at work, but im glad it was already cut. the part number for my pig was 68384-454AD and was 155 dollars from CDJR (that may have been wholesale price). For the price difference, id call you local dealer before i went aftermarket.

if you give me the vin, i can verify the part number or mopar may chime in.

you will have to get it programmed to operate the electronic portion and start the vehicle. you do not need the doors on for the programming process, at least that was my scenario.

I damaged my keys and had to replace both at the same time.

edit: it took two days to receive the keys from the dealer.

Get one from the dealer, when I worked at Gm sometimes the aftermarket fobs would be problematic and not program. Essentially wasting everyone’s time and money.

Mentioned in the thread I linked to.... IF your JT does not have remote start....

A way to go for you would be to buy an OEM remote start kit for JT.

The OEM remote start kit, comes with 2 new factory key fobs and all else needed for your JT.
Also comes with 2 cut keys..

The cost of the remote start kit is approx. $325 (depends where you buy the OEM kit) and install of kit is an hrs. labor at the dealership.

Yes, I know a couple of people that did this. They figured the $ difference in the end to have remote start was worth it. Lots depends on if you would like to have remote start...

Take out the spring, use a rubber band, or buy an aftermarket replacement.

Went to a local locksmith, and they ordered one for me, and cut it, and programmed it right there for 80 dollars.

Separate the key from the fob
and put it on your key ring.
That way your stuff can be secured
in the glove box, center console
and behind the seat.
Keep the key. Give the FOB
to the valet or mechanic.

I mucked up my fob in the process
and replaced it with an AJT Design.
Much better. More compact.
Bolts together.

I purchased a fob on Amazon that looked like the oem and then used my xtoll d7w to programmed the fob myself in just a few minutes
