A less expensive option would be to get after market lights or light bar and wire them to the bright lights so they turn on at the same time. $100 vs $1000 stock. Its only money so what ever look you prefer.

Tonneau Cover for sure. There is not much storage room beside the bed. $200 aftermarket roll up is a good deal and very functional. The fold up ones are nice in theory but a pain in the ass if you want to use the full length of the bed as there is no where to store them when they are not lying down.

I never thought of that. I follow Crispy11B on Instagram, & he has a really tough fold-up cover on his pickup that’s waterproof & lockable that I thought looked like a great idea…but I never considered how I’d hv to remove it to carry something larger. These are all the ideas/things to think about I came to this forum for, & SO appreciate y’all!

If you’re not planning on doing a whole lot of serious off road, I think you’re on the right track already. About the only real must have I’d recommend based on what you wrote is to get the bed lined.

Oh, and don’t get the taco. I just traded a really nice one in on my Rubicon and couldn’t be happier about it…

The only thing I want to throw into the mix is that, as you mentioned, these are expensive enough as it is, why do you need a Rubicon if you say your not going to be doing tails. The Sport S is extremely capable (its also a 4x4) and more affordable. I would save your money, and use the savings to get the extra goodies mentioned above. You do not need lockers to drive over your lawn, I promise. Hell, I'm willing to bet half the people on the forum (who have Rubicon's) still haven't had to legitimately use them. just something to consider and welcome to the family.

Agreed.
Get the TracLoc (limited slip) rear end, and drive it for a while before putting monster tires on it. Unless you're driving over boulders or logs, I think you'll find even a Sport is extremely capable right from the factory (except the crappy All Season tires.) And if you don't go with the Rubicon, seriously consider the SelecTrac transfer case, which adds a full-time AWD option.
I also think a, "real," truck should have a manual transmission, but I drove both, and I was disappointed with the 6-speed. And my wife has physical limitations that keep her from diving a manual anymore
It's gonna be your Jeep, so have it your way, and drive the wheels off it!

I would suggest ordering it with everything you want from the factory. You may pay a little more up front, but you won't spend time later modifying it, or paying someone to modify it. If you think you may want a winch in the future, order it with a steel bumper. This will get the stiffer springs installed at the factory so there is less drop in the front when the winch is added. Some options, like the front camera, cannot be added later by the dealer. I bought off the lot, but it was one of the first the dealer ordered, and it had every option included (except the block heater and front camera).

I love manuals too. My WRX is a manual. But I am glad I bought the automatic on the gladiator. The 8 speed is a great transmission. And without it the towing capacity is crap. Sport S max tow here.

I don’t know if y’all wonderful people will see this update, but I hope so! I really want to thank you for your suggestions & assistance. I placed my order yesterday, and can’t believe I finally have my Gladiator Rubicon 6-speed manual (I’m a manual transmission devotee. That’s DRIVING. ?) build ordered (now when I’ll receive it…??‍?)! I’m so excited that I am pinging off the walls. ?? Of course, today I was already wondering why I haven’t received any emails from Jeep or don’t hv a VIN, yet. ?

Now…anyone know of any 4WD classes, either in Monroe or Greenbrier Counties in WV or Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach/Nassau County/Jacksonville, Florida? ?
