Hello, I cannot find the aux switch wiring under the hood near the battery, everything is taped up super tight and I cannot feel any loose wires. Please can someone post a picture of which tape I should be removing or cutting to find these aux wires under the hood ? I am trying to hook up my off road lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here is a pic of the wiring harnesses next to my battery. Which one should I cut the tape away from ? The big round one ? or the other one ? One seems to be a ground already.

It's only four wires, so start with the small bundle that's tucked underneath. It should pull out to a reasonable length, and have four individual wires that have heat shrink over the ends.

Silly question, but you do have the factory installed AUX switch group, not the dealer installed option at delivery?

Yes, my window sticker says "Auxiliary Switch Group - $295", and I bought it right off the factory delivery truck. They did not even have a chance to add their additional dealer alarm that they charge for. I did not even let them wash it, nor drive it (manual) to put gas in it, I wanted to break in the clutch myself. I tried pulling on all those wire bundles and none of them come loose. The lower smaller bundle is very tight and goes into the fender. The bigger bundle had two zip ties that held it to those plastic shields, and I already cut both of those off to see if I could achieve some slack, but, no go. I was thinking to cut that big bundle open, but, I will be super upset if I cut it open and it is not where the wires are. I did a very purposeful installation, and I do not want to mess it up now. Any help would really be appreciated.

Please can someone with the "auxiliary switch group" option on their JT post a picture of that same area behind the battery, so, I can see if my JT is different for some reason ? Maybe the factory forgot to route the wires or something ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I already saw this video. Unfortunately, my wire bundles look nothing like his.... I have zero slack on any of them. The only thing I can think of is cutting up that big bundle ? maybe they are coiled up in that big bundle ? If I am wrong, I hate to hack up those bundles for nothing.....

Poke around a bit more in that area. You should find a small wire bundle with the end not attached to anything. Do not cut either of the obvious ones in your photo. I'd take a photo of mine but there is too much extra wire from my lights in the way. I didn't have any trouble finding the connections under the hood, but I had a helluva time finding the ones in the cab.

Edit...was able to grab a photo. Follow the indicated wire bundle to the end. Mine was at least a foot long. It is the top bundle coming out of the plastic...on mine at least.

Thanks for your reply ! This job seemed so easy.... I am embarrassed.... I think it is that thinner lower bundle that goes into the fender, but, I yanked on that bundle pretty hard and it will not budge. There are a total of 3 bundles, can you validate for me that it is the bottom smaller bundle that tucks into the fender towards the front of the Gladiator ? Thanks in advance.

Yours looks different. I added a photo to my post above and it looks just like the photo in Post #7. My wires are about a foot long and were not tucked into anything. My guess is that it is the small bundle in your photo that is closest to the driver's side of the vehicle...kinda making a backwards C. Try following that one. You should not have to go far.

Ok... Thanks guys for all the help ! So, to summarize, there are three bundles coming from the back plastic tray. One big bundle with zip ties (I cut those off), on medium bundle that goes to ground, and one small bundle that should be the aux wires. On my JT this small bundle gets tucked into the fender and I cannot get it out.... please can you validate that you have the same three bundles ? Thanks.

There are 3 coming out of the plastic connector on mine. But I suppose that could change with different options. You might try carefully removing the wrap to check that the wire colors match the manual.

Try crawling underneath and looking up behind the fender liner. It is possible that yours got trapped at some point. The heat shrink on the ends of the four wires would be just enough to stop them from pulling through easily.

I'll put up a picture of mine when I get home this afternoon.

Here's some pictures from mine. The Aux wires come out of the plastic box and are just taped to the big bundle.

Bingo ! You were 100% right ! I found it between the fender liner and the fender. It was stuck on the 10 mm battery tray screw. I removed the air box and I could see it under the air box. I still could not yank it back up until I unscrewed the bolt on the battery tray that had cinched the bundle down tight. I am not embarrased any more.

Here are a few pics of the aux view wires I found underneath the air cleaner box. You can see the aux wires stuck underneath the battery holder and going underneath the air box.

Here you can see the aux wires stuck underneath the 10 mm bolt holding the battery tray. I had to loosen that bolt half way to work loose the wires.

I like the low beams with the fogs and the off-road lights for the best light. High beams do not make a big difference with the off-road lights and you lose the fogs. As you can see the light output of the Mopar off-road lights is awesome. Brightest and most floody off-road lights I have ever seen. I highly recommend these Mopar 7 inch off-road lights.

I would like to thank you guys for showing me pictures and helping me avoid cutting up my wire bundles. In the end, your pictures and advice steered me in the right direction to solve the issue. It is great to have a nice bunch of Jeep guys helping you out. Cheers and enjoy the pics !
