I'm pretty well versed in the spring numbers for Rubicons and Sports. But I decided to take a look at the springs on my Willys and the numbers are not like the others.

Neither of these fit the pattern on how most of the other springs are numbered. And what even more odd is the rear springs have no tag on them at all. I looked and felt every single coil just in case I was missing it.

I'm mulling over swapping out for Rubicon take-offs. But I really don't want to do anything until I figure out if they will even make a difference.

Looks like numbering system has totally changed for 2021 , comparing base sport to Rubicon both 2021 and although did find the numbers on Mopar parts they are listed for all Gladiators

That is very odd. I'd love to know more.

Would also still like to see tag #s from a diesel Willys, Overland, or 80th.

These numbers seem unique though. The Sport and Rubicon still have somewhat of a pattern. These numbers are so random.

Ok even more confusing. Your front right and my front left are the same. You have a base sport with soft top. I have a hard top with much more options. I have no idea what's going on here. LOL

It's pretty easy in a way - the right is the stronger spring. If there are three springs, they can do two different setups instead of having 4 springs to do 2 different weight configurations.
On some trucks, the left front of a heavier truck may be the right front of a lighter truck. That lighter truck would have a lower numbered spring left front.
So to me the right front on a light truck is the heavier of the two, it would make the lighter left spring on a heavier truck - which would get a heavier spring still on the right front.

Yeah I have the springs. The heaviest ones available. I hate to go through all of the work for minimal to no results.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve got a set of rubi coils lined out. 339 and 340. But my max tow is this weird format. 7801AA for front driver and 7802AA for the passenger.
