Thanks for any and all suggestions in advance! I have a ‘20 Mojave with 19k miles running on all stock 33” setup. I am having an issue when I am slowing down to a stop with a nice gradual pedal and it jerks slightly as I am slowing. It feels like it could be two things. 1. Feels like the transmission is downshifting and somehow affecting the impact of how much brake pressure I need or 2. Something with the brake line where it lets the brake pedal sink in all the sudden. I am pretty sure it feels transmission related and makes it so the ride is choppy every time I go to slow down.

on a side note, I also notice that my catalytic leaks water fromwhat looks like a hole. Is that normal?

It's probably the transmission downshifting.

An easy way to confirm this is to slip it into neutral as you begin your deceleration. Then come to a stop with it in neutral. Is the jerking gone?

The cat runs at many hundreds of degrees. It can not leak water as any water in contact with it would boil off. I don't know if there is a heat shield or some kind of skid plate there. But water can not come out of a cat.

do others have trouble with a jumpy transmission on downshifting that affects smooth braking? I mistaked and the water is coming from the muffler

I experience the same drag when coming to a stop below 10 mph. It feels as though I had added more pressure to the brake pedal momentarily. I believe we are experiencing drag from the transmission shifting to a lower gear. You can try what dcmdon suggested above to confirm this.

Going to try that for sure. Wonder though if it is the trans, is that normal? It’s a PITA

After driving the Glade for just over 20k miles I have become accustomed to, what I believe, are the nuances of the Gladiator. Personally I have not been concerned with subject nuance and have not brought it up to the dealer when in for service. However, there may be a forum member who may shed light on possible reprogramming the transmission for smoother operation. My knowledge is from a previous era when transmissions were controlled by levers and vacuum pressures not cables, electronics and algorithms. I will keep an eye on this thread to see what others have to say.

Each day on my drive to work, I come down a slight (15%) incline in the road as I approach a stop sign. It is a smooth country road with a speed limit of 45mph and I use medium to light brake pedal pressure to make the stop. Combining the speed, the incline and the pedal pressure creates the perfect scenario for this exact situation that I feel with my JTM on stock size 33's. Definitely the transmission downshift process is what is felt. It is a silky smooth-to-stop coasting in neutral. This never happens anywhere else but this location. ?‍♂

You can talk to the dealer about it and ask them to put it back in Learn mode. It may or may not help, but without error codes or a problem they can duplicate, there's really nothing else they can do.

I could be wrong but I think I heard it has to de with gearing for trailering because we don’t have a dedicated trailer tow mode, it’s programmed to to do that wacky ****

That's engine braking down shifting 2 gears rapidly going down hill. Similar to hill start assist, but this is down hill assist lol

Is that something that can be fixed or turned off?

You can try a computer reset/relearn if your are excessive. I think the brakes on these trucks are barely adequate.

The brakes feel plenty adequate but for whatever reason I am getting feedback from downshifting coming to a stop which is making the ride really choppy when braking to a stop. I am going to eventually get to the stealership to try a reset and see if that helps
