Can someone please tell me what I am looking at here? I just noticed this today on my son’s Rubicon. It looks like it may be connected to the sway bar but I’m not sure. Also any ideas on the cost of repair? It’s on the driver side front.

Thanks for the info! Nice photos too!

That’s the “drag link”. The rubber that holds grease on the joint is worn out so look into getting a new one, but it doesn’t look like an emergency.
(Unless the joint is loose and floppy)

Can you replace just the boot or is it the entire drag link assembly?

Check your inbox.
Put a thick, XL nitrile glove over it and zip tie the wrist and middle finger. :like:

Just an FYI, the Pitman arm end can be a PITA to get out.

I had to use a pickle fork and a BFH.

Typically you can replace just the grease boot. If you can't get one from MOPAR, you should be able to find a universal replacement of the correct size from your FLAPS.
