Hey Guys,

I just joined the gladiator club and need to install a brake controller. I have used the Curt Spektrum in several vehicles and am moving it over to the jeep. I have looked up the adaptor plug part number from Curt as 51527. It looks like lots have done this with no issue however some early build jeeps had issues and needed a diode? MY Gladiator is a Rubicon and did not come with max tow package. I have seen several sources that say all gladiators have the plugs and my particular truck has the 7 pin connector but I want to verify. From what I can tell there was a TSB to update the module and that has been fixed but wanted to check with those that have been in the game longer then me if this info is correct. I pickup the jeep tomorrow so I can check for the plug then but was hoping someone could shed some light.

I the spektrum also has a dip switch that can turn off the backfeed of power into the red wire which was causing the issue but then the brake lights don't come on during manual trailer brake activation.

I have tried serching but cannot seem to find this particular info. Thanks!

You will need a harness without the diode, and then take it to the dealer to get the TSB done for the ABS system.
