I have A Wouxion radio that is about 1 year old. Twice in the last year, the radio will lock up, none of the controls will work including the power switch will not allow me to turn the radio off. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

It’s the Chinese radio thing. I have a Powerwerx, also Chinese.

If you have the software and cable see how it shows up on that. Might have a lock feature you keep on activating accidentally. See if you can download a firmware update. Otherwise needs to go to a shop that services those radios.

Were is the antenna in relation to the head. I have seen RF get into various radios and make them stupid. Normally a true power cycle (remove 12v fuse) and back on fixes the issue. The CCR world doesn't use much shielding.

Interesting. After turning it on, I never transmitted, just had radio powered up for several hours. I have since removed fuse and then reinstalled. The radio does seem to be operating normally now. I would like to determine a root cause however…
