Hey, FCA/JEEP; Multiply the "Multi-Function" Tailgate

RAM has recently announced the New RAM Multi-Function Tailgate - Offset Barn Door style - will be available as a Stand Alone Item . . . YEA !
The Gladiator, in 2020, in-kind, should have a Wrangler-Style Swing-Open tail Gate so that we "Life-Styler's" in our Life Style JT's can ADD a Drop Down TABLE -- just like on the Wranglers ! ! ! Jeep needs to figure out how to make the Gate open up and down, AND Open like a DOOR ! This would be awesome (to me) and the easier far-end Bed accessibility would also be nice . Anyone feel likewise ? Any other TailGate Options-ideas ? How about some "renderings" os JLU style tailgate with dropdown table showing usefulness ! ?

There are benefits of drop down and swing out...if it can do both then great. But if it can only do 1 function, then give me drop down as there's so much more to use a drop-down tailgate for vs. a swing out. For the last few SUVs I bought, as part of the selection process I gave points if the tailgate split in half and opened upper-half glass up and lower-half tailgate down. In fact I converted my old FJ40 from barn doors to hatchback + tailgate.

Gotta admit, the dual action tailgate is pretty handy, especially when you need to grab something out of the in bed trunk.

I remember the dual action tailgate on station wagons when I was a kid. I’ve had trucks, JKs, TJs. I always find myself wishing for a drop down, never a real need for swing out. I also think the dual action costs you in supported weight.

IIRC it's rated at 300 lbs dynamic and 2,250 lbs static.

Id be among the first to make this mod. I would absolutely love to have this capability. I want a table/ kitchen set up similar to the wrangler set ups.

I think the oem tailgate has beer can spots as well.
