Got in my truck today to go to the hardware store and water poured out from under the soft top on the passenger side. Went to look at where it might be coming from and found this:
Well, that explains why my wife said there was water dripping on her the other day, though it was just a bit that I had assumed came from the outside of the gutter. Looking further, it looks like there's no way it wouldn't eventually wear through, as there's a sharp edge of the metal frame right there.
I'm going to contact the dealer, as it should be covered under warranty (3 year / 36K and I'm just at 2 years and 27K), but I'm wondering if they'll patch it somehow or replace the entire top? Really, it's a design defect... the frame member should have a rounder edge or failing that, some kind of protective cover to keep it from abrading. But absent a warranty repair, what's the best way to patch it so it doesn't wear through again? Has anybody else seen damage like this at this point?
