Hot head headliner worth it?

Another vote for the Hothead Headliners being worth it. I'm a desert dweller, and my AC now works less than before. There's a video on YouTube somewhere actually measuring the temp differences. Install for me was easy as well, and I only removed the freedom panels.

I was thinking about fabing my own set of headliners because I am doing a complete after market Stereo system with sound dampening mat and mass Loaded Vinyl on the entire inside cabin. Still considering doing this but it appears there is already a product available. I may come out a little cheaper building it myself, but my time invested in doing it may out weigh the price.

Hotheads sells a sound deadening kit to install under the headliner.

Are the sound assassins just thin strips or do the cover the entire surface?

They are the thin strips that attach to the recess in top. The headliners attach to the raised portion of the top.

i did this in my jl and it made the liner too heavy for the standard adhesive.

Seems like something you could easily do yourself with some insulation material and a well cut 1/8 board. Then stretch your favorite color material around the 1/8 wood and secure.

Hi Sean, we only sell Sound Assassin strips for the hard top because the headliner's 3M VHB tape needs to directly adhere to the hard top surface. If you take a look at the below images, the Sound Assassin strips will go in between where you will be instructed to apply the 3M VHB tape for your headliners.
