How do I charge my Battery?

Took the Gladiator on a 200 mile loop on the Apache Trail near Phoenix Tuesday. Got in it Wednesday night to move it and battery was dead. And I had, somehow left it in Drive when I parked it. Tried charging it for 3 hours and got no results. I'm reading this morning about the AUX battery, which needs replacing, being hooked to the main battery. Would the best thing for me to do is to remove both terminals and charge the battery or is there a better recommendation?

Install the charging cables on the main battery. The negative should be on the top plate, above the IBS. Connected like this will charge both batteries. If you killed both batteries, it is going to take some time to charge, depending on your charger. It should also be an AGM charger.

Care should be taken when removing battery terminals if you go this route to charge your batteries. You will also need to reset your IBS after charging both batteries. Do not let cables touch each other or any ground.

My secondary battery is bad and the Jeep has disabled the stop/start. I charged the battery with the negative cable off and attached negative charger cable directly to post. Battery charged and Jeep started. But will not rev above 3K. Do you think this is because I did not reset IBS? Where can I find info on IBS reset? Not ready to limp into the dealer 15 miles away!

I think that’s normal, when in park mine will not rev over 3,000 too. I think it’s a protection from the computer.

How do you know that battery is bad? Did you charge it independently and test it?
Stop/start can be disabled for a lot of reasons, bad main battery, bad aux battery, among other things.

Quite honestly It just stopped doing the stop/start stuff. So I assumed, since it is a 2020 that battery died. The big one died about 9 months ago. I, for some reason, didn't put it in park when I got home. Next morning it was DEAD. No lights when I opened the door. I finally pulled the negative connection off the battery and charged it for about 6 hours. Works great now.
