I got a door ding before I lifted it and was kind of pissed. Now I laugh when I go out and the car next to me dinged their door on my rails.

I have a couple of dings and scuffs up from from a piece of siding that flew up from under a car on the freeway. I totally caught it broadside and shattered, slow motion like in the movies going through a wall.

It's so crazy when it seems that stuff happens in slow motion! Glad there was nothing serious on the freeway..

I ran over a tree limb and some other debris on the road that the county tractor left behind, and as I traveled over it the limb lifted off the ground and twisted and hammered against the side of my Jeep. It left 3 small dents in the passenger side front quarter panel, broke the antennae plastic surround, and left a large scrape in the passenger door. It was so loud I pulled over.

Man, I was not happy to find that. I must have OCD or something. I have never been able to accept a dented vehicle. This was two days ago and I'm still bummed. I called the county to see if they'll cover it. If not, I don't think I'll even put in for an insurance claim because they'll turn right around and jack me to take all their money right back.
It may bother you, but it does not bother your JT. It was born to be scratched, dented, bent and such. Those "damages" actually soothe the soul of your Jeep as long as there was no intent to damage but rather an intent to live as it wants to live. Your Jeep doesn't want to be in a museum or live forever. It wants to live a full life with you. It welcomes the bruises along the way as evidence of that shared life that is worth experiencing.

Hate the first ding/scratch on a new vehicle. The second not quite so much . . .

Right now the JT is our newest vehicle, so not looking forward to it's first dent. (The new windshield I have on order for highway rock damage is bad enough)

Thankfully mine came with one on day 1 that I noticed 🤣 tiny little thing sort of hidden by the rear bumper. Looks like a case of someone at the factory bumped it while installing the bumper 🤷‍♂️

It did kind of take the edge off though knowing the first was out of the way lol.

Welp, there's a saying that bad luck comes in 3s. I went from a pristine vehicle (minus rock chips on the door hinges), to a broken windshield, 3 dents and 3 scrapes from the tree branch, and a rear passenger floor full of water to due to what appears to be a leaking rear window. The joy......

I need a new windshield on my Gladiator but the body has no dents.

My Wrangler on the other hand has survived 15 winters in South Dakota, and more importantly, 15 hail seasons in South Dakota. It looks like an off-road golf ball. In 15 years living here every car I've owned except for 2 has ended up with hail damage, and every time the insurance check goes to paying off the vehicle.
