I with you. I hate dents. I hate scratches. I hate it all...but its not enough to deter me.

I added bed sliders to protect my bed for an upcoming trip to Moab. I did the Top of the World trail and didn't realize I must've bent the bed sliders into the bed itself. I was probably one or all of the 573 rocks I bounced off in my stock JT. Pretty decent dent too.

I cringe each time I see the dent. I then have an ear-to-ear grin b/c of that trail.

It's no pavement princess but if it gets bad enough, I'll take it to a body shop. Otherwise, here's to bouncing off a few more rocks...but not too much. I still have to drive it home!

The best is the ding & scratch in my tailgate from loading landscaping materials last spring.......its still there now.

At the end of the day its a truck to me and I will use it as such. I will get some touch up paint and call it a day.

The county won't pay anything. You took it off road, you took a risk. If the dent bothers you, take the Jeep to a body shop and have them pop the dent out.
Buy a Band-Aid sticker and cover the dent.
I don't know what you're talking about. This was debris IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAVED ROAD. And yes, they have a risk management division who I am talking to.

Why did you buy it? Most of us who bought a Gladiator will use it in the way it was built and tested. Others will park it at the mall and be worried about door dings.
I bought it to off-road in, which I've done thousands of miles thus far - without denting it. There are plenty of rock chips on the hinges, more than most people probably. But I don't rock-crawl with it, and try not to dent it.

I'm with you on this, you can offroad without beating the hell out of it. Keeping it nice takes a little effort, but I like how it looks. I would definitely have to get any damage to it fixed.

Thank you. This is how I do it, too. I like a vehicle which is not dented. I have scraped up the inside of the bed a bit, but that doesn't bother me at all. That's what it's for.

I totally understand an can totally relate…..

Back in my younger years, we had nothing but used old beatup YJ’s that we lifted and took off road on the rocks. We actually trailered it …so, it really didn’t matter.

But now that I’m older….. Having a nice new JT that cost me a nice big chunk of $$ - I wanna keep it as nice as possible for as long as possible. I mean…. Weā€˜ve ceramic coated it and probably wash it once every two weeks in the summer.

I’ve had this thing since March of 2024…. and aside from the mods, I’m already seeing small dings & dents that I don’t even know where they came from. Those are the worst!!! It is what it is….they don’t stay perfect forever. šŸ™„

I think the rule of thumb for insurance claims is this:
If material is lying stationary in the road no one is liable.
If it comes off a vehicle and hits another vehicle
the first vehicle is liable.
It is not clear how many bounces it can take
before being deemed stationary.

Yeah, after reading around I do not think the county is going to do a damn thing. The situation was that the county tractor with mower was working on the road right at that time, and had left debris on both sides of the roadway. I had the misfortune of running over a large limb that then kicked up against the Jeep. I couldn't see the limb because it was obscured by hedge trimming debris, etc. I won't make a claim through my insurance because they'll jack my rates. The unfortunate part about the damage is the clearcoat is scraped in 3 areas at least, and a few of the dents are more like creases. It was a really unlucky thing.

Totally get it. I try to avoid damage, and if it happens I fix it. Dents are the most annoying.

the very first time i took a freedom panel off i pinged teh side of the body on the only place larger than the palm of my hand. Nice little dimple and literally happened less than 4 days after purchasing. It is still all i can see from 1/2 a block away and My wife didn't notice for like 2 years HAHAHA. Just don't tell you wife and maybe she will never notice.

I ran over a tree limb and some other debris on the road that the county tractor left behind, and as I traveled over it the limb lifted off the ground and twisted and hammered against the side of my Jeep. It left 3 small dents in the passenger side front quarter panel, broke the antennae plastic surround, and left a large scrape in the passenger door. It was so loud I pulled over.

Man, I was not happy to find that. I must have OCD or something. I have never been able to accept a dented vehicle. This was two days ago and I'm still bummed. I called the county to see if they'll cover it. If not, I don't think I'll even put in for an insurance claim because they'll turn right around and jack me to take all their money right back.

Please see the attached photo for my solution,, it also helps that I hate the color (for myself, I don’t care if others own it, it’s just not my personality or esthetic). So I really don’t care if it gets scratched or dented, unless it cracks the paint enough to start rust, then I will fix it. šŸ˜†
