Good morning

Currently I am only in dealership shopping mode at the moment and will move forward with my order once I've determined which dealership to use.

I have built a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Eco Diesel (attached) and would like an out-the-door quote. I am a long-time jeep owner and member of the Jeep forums. I know what a few referred and highly regarded dealerships from the forums are offering potential customers as shown by the order contracts posted.

When putting together my quote please consider the following if applicable:

Florida resident
Military
FCA Tread Lightly member
Costco member
*Add any additional incentives jeep may have that I qualify for.

Please advise me of all associated fees not in the build sheet. (no add ons)

Doc/Dealer fee
Tax/Tags
Delivery fee

Respectfully,

XXXXX XXXXXXXX

So that's what I think I will send out this week. What do yall think? Am I missing anything?
Also should I email the dealerships all in the same email blast ?
Im in south florida and will be emailing out of state to Gupton, Tri City and Mall of Georgia CDJR
In state Winter Haven and New Smyrna.

I legit don't know what the right answer here is, but am interested to see what others think. I mean I think it's a good, concise email and definitely something that I would feel comfortable blasting out (separately) if I was buying something other than a car. But I worry that a dealer may see this and say/think "not worth the hassle."

If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to contact one of the reputable dealers here, get a nice firm out-the-door quote in writing, and then shop around other places. "I've got this locked down, can you do better? I want to support my local dealer, etc." And state your timeline.

First... TMI. They have a very low conversion rate on the random emails so they won't spend tons of time running multiple discount scenarios. They will price a truck at a moderately high price as they expect you will never materalize.

Also, basic negotiation, don't put all your cards on the table at once. Get the lowest possible price for the truck and then layer on any perks like military etc. Price the truck first, then go for discounts. Otherwise they will say 'look at these discounts you are getting a great price' when you could maybe have gotten to that point before the discounts.

Great idea. I’ll pull some of perks etc out for follow up emails.
I look forward to hearing advice from others as well. Thank you

Also I created this email draft in hopes to help my cause and also for others to possibly use in the future as an idea... once we get this one tightened up.

My guess is they will play dumb and quote you full retail or just not respond.

Every dealer I contacted around me was so arrogant and wouldn't acknowledge any discounts on Rubicons.

I expect that with my dealers and most others out there according to members here. But there are 3 that I mentioned by name in my first post and I’ve seen nothing but absolute praise for them. I’m sure I’ll end up choosing one of those out of state dealers as well.

in my experience you’re better off calling dealers rather than emailing. you’re lucky to get a call back when negotiating over the phone, let alone an email.

I had good luck with tri city via email though I never bought the truck I inquired about due to COVID TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. I’d email them and mention this forum. I think someone posted 7% under invoice from a Florida dealer earlier today as well. Tri City gave me a good price right out of the gate

I emailed quite a few dealerships from West Palm to Orlando to Tampa. Most did not reply. Lakeland did provide a quote, and was quite good. Couple others replied, but were close to MSRP (not sure why when their website would show 5% off). Even the one dealership I stopped in to test drive didn't reply to my email. The ones that did reply just asked me to come in....
I found this quite interesting, and frustrating, to be honest. In 2014 I did the same thing when I ordered my m235i and almost all BMW dealerships replied. It's almost like Jeep dealerships are stuck in the 1990s. Maybe it was just the 12 or so I emailed, but was certainly strange.

I have bought cars by email. It requires work and a dedicated burner email that isn't too obvious. No matter what you do to remove yourself from dealer emails they always put you back on, so don't use your primary, but don't make it too obvious its a burner either.

It's possible to do by email but it's only worked out for me once on an Audi. It took a ton of emails to different regional dealers, back and forth with multiple, prices, quotes, etc. You may find the internet salesman who has the time or is willing to play so worth a shot. But I would not make it the go to way to buy.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully Ill have better luck as Im emailing people who are mentioned on the forum and have their emails listed. These guys specifically are the liaisons for group pages like this so hopefully more luck that way. If not I have their direct lines.
Emails going out today so Ill keep everyone posted.

I would just go with Gupton Motors in TN. I ordered a Eco Diesel from them. 8% under invoice plus any additional incentives at the time of delivery. $399 dealer fee
