Congratulations on the house. Looks very nice. No neighbors close by. I'm sure a big change from Boca.

The biggest thing getting use to, is how easy and fast it is to get around here. The house is very much in country, but still less than 10 minutes from stores.
We’ll NEVER have neighbors closer than 300 yards, and for now they are 1/4 mile away. 4 acres only takes 1.5 hours to mow with a big tractor… The silence is a little bit to get use to, although the city noises are now replaced with nature. I wake up to the sun rising over the mountains to the east every day, can’t see sunsets due to the mountain/forest in the back yard.

But no beach… I guess a trade off needed to be made somewhere…

Having gone to undergrad in Tuscaloosa back in the late 80s, Alabama will be on my radar as a retirement destination. I won't miss Florida.

Lol, WAY bigger mountains than what are in FL. Tallest ‘mount’ down there is just over 300 ft in elevation…
