Looking for feedback from someone who actually owns/used them. Do they give enough clearance to get tires off the ground, how is the quality, any major issues?

The 3000# one is tall enough to jack the axle up to get the wheels off the ground.

The good thing about the design, you can build up height with 2 x 4 cribbing to jack at the frame and lift the JT.

Longevity, can't answer, have only used this design on jobsites and not often enough to know how they stand up.

Treat it like any bottle jack, stored upright out of the weather, and it should last a long time.

The biggest problem with newer bottle jacks are the o-rings. You can get kits to rebuild the seals.

Interesting …never knew these existed…..

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to buy 4 jackstands and ONE hydraulic jack?

I mean…I have 8 jackstands (from Harbor Freight) and ONE hydraulic jack (Craftsman).

Maybe. But I also trust HF jack stands as much as I trust a politician so YMMV.

I think my aluminum jack was about $150 and 4 heavy duty non Harbor Freight stands set me back about another $75-100. 4 of these would be $150.

I think the biggest challenge is having enough clearance for these on anything other than a truck. You'd still need to use a floor jack to get it up high enough to slide one under on the jack point on a unibody car. IE: On my e46 there's a subframe point directly under the motor you use to get it in the air, then slide the stand under the jacking points.

These are sold individually, not in pairs, so it'd be $300 for four of them.

I actually have 4 HF stands and a low profile 3 ton Pittsburgh jack. Works well for lower cars but not for the Jeep. I can lift it and secure high enough to do any work under the truck but can’t take the wheels off. Hydraulic ones supposedly extend further than regular jacks.

Yeah there was a huge recall on HF jacks years back. The set I currently use was not a part of it, but I still but an old tire under just in case…

Yeah, I’ll pass on those. The whole point of jack stands is that it’s safer than relying on a jack alone. I’ve seen hydraulic jacks fail out of the blue. Those look like they will do the same.

From what I researched, these are positively locking, hydraulic jack is only used for lifting. Once in position, the pressure is released and they lock like regular stands. Honestly I think these are safer since you can lift in stages. I had a car slide on me from a stand before while jacking up other side. Made for a less than ideal day…

I bought one of these about 3 years ago. Only have used it a handful of times, as my floor jack is much more convenient for getting the Jeep off the floor. Also, regular jack stands are much lighter than this is, so I use those once the truck is up. It still works fine though.

Used it all the time trail side. i don't own one but I need to get one or something better. My buddy has it and its perfect. Many a flat or CVC axle was changed with that bad boy. Sand, mud, snow, it never skipped a beat.

I have had a set of 4 for a few years now (started with just a set of two). My older 2 have done great for 8 years +/-, one of my newer two got stuck fully up and wouldn't release but that was on me. Just make sure you don't max out the bottle jack beyond the last catch on the jack stand and you shouldn't have any issues. I also have a set of the 4000lb ones and have had zero issues with them. I also have a pro eagle jack, multiple sizes of jack stands, a lower profile jack, etc. (I like options I guess) but I typically use my Power Built jack stands the most when it comes to tire rotations/suspension/brake work. Amazon has them on sale once in a while too, so if you're in not hurry you can watch for them there too.

Thanks all for the input, just ordered 4 from JEGS. They have a summer promo code going right now with free shipping, came out $68 per stand.
