So this thread informed me of a thing called the hydro-guide. Got me interested, sure enough it's for water diversion from air intakes.

So the depth is now officially 2.5" higher for a Rubicon because of the lift those seem to have? Or is it just because the 392 has more lift? Anyway irrelevant for now. What I'm interested in is the hood/system. The thread explained how it's useless for the 3.6, but with the differential breathers being another limiting factor (among others, see thread), is the hood just to prevent water in the air intake during splashings?When the going gets too deep, there's added peace of mind that the new Wrangler will channel up to 15 gallons of water using a series of ducts to redistribute it away from the air intake. Plus, as a precautionary measure thanks to its improved lift, the Jeep can ford 32.5-inches of water.
