I put XL/regulars on my Mojave, but I wish I’d gone for XL/long in the front. I have 35s on (stock wheels) and I still have a lot of paint chips on the door hinges and the lower rear body, and my rear flares are very chewed up. I do a lot of miles on dirt and gravel roads at fairly high speeds though.

I ditched the thumb screws for mounting my flaps. I used stainless screws, fender washers and nyloc nuts for mounting. I used blue Loctite on the rear hardware holding all the pieces together.

Well, I finally got a chance to test out the Rokblokz flaps on my Mojave. These flaps are the same length but slightly wider than the Regular/Long. In a combination of low speed & high speed (45mph) driving on wet/muddy dirt roads, they performed really well. Absolutely no mud made it to the door hinges, rear fenders or rear bumper, but I also have the Overland side steps which helps protect some of these areas.

The steps are providing the majority of the protection of not all of it, I have the same steps without mud flaps and nothing gets on the side of my JT from the front tires.

Went with just fronts on mine to protect the door hinges. One month and they were already chipped up pretty badly.

Yeah, but I still noticed that there is no mud on the underside of the side steps until about 1/2 way back. That should also help with minimizing snow build-up in the winter.

There is no doubt that without the side steps the rear fenders would get plastered with mud and whatever else comes off the front tires. The only way to eliminate that with mud flaps only would be to have flaps that basically drag on the ground.
