Funny because thousands of us tow with these, some fairly regular. Even an Overland can easily tow 5,000 pounds and no, I'd not be afraid to trim that just a bit and hit mountains.Any gladiator really shouldn’t tow more than 4000lbs regularly. Can they… sure…. But they are not full sized trucks and do struggle with high altitude, heat, etc.
If you are buying a gladiator just to tow, don’t…
Funny how such things come out as "FACT!" and "TRUTH!" even though it's really just opinion.
So the pentastar winds up, runs higher RPM - big freaking whoop. Ever driven an LS equipped Chevy? My LS had to wind up HIGHER and hold higher RPM to take the same hills my Pentastar takes at several hundred RPM less. And, my Pentastar gets better mpg than my Chevy LS ever did. I'd see 5,000 RPM with the Chevy - the JT does about 4300 to take the same hills at the same speed. Interesting.
Oh, and that's truth, fact.
Almost - it is not the same equipment because it's the diesel and they couldn't get past heat rejection to make the grade (figuratively and literally)So it's the same equipment, sans the silly name.
I just can't understand it - people compare parts instead of packages. Max tow is a PACKAGE so if it doesn't say max tow, it isn't. It's truly that simple.
And it's ONLY on gas, ONLY on the sport line.
If it's not the sport line it cant be max tow.
If it's not gas, it can't be max tow.
Not difficult. Just two criteria, and the fact that the window sticker and build sheet will specifically state max tow if it is.
If the window sticker and build sheet don't state the max tow OPTION/package, then it isn't, no matter what else is there.
Hope that simplifies things ;-)
