Hello all,

So thinking of jumping on the trade-in train and upgrading to a gladiator. I plan on lifting it, rims and 35/37s, steel bumpers and side steps, etc. I really was eyeing the Mojave but I've seen a bunch people saying there is no point if you are going to lift it anyway.

So I'm wondering should I do it anyway lol or go with a sport s w maxtow so I get the Dana 44s and 4:10 gear ratio?

Depends on what you are going to use it for. If you need the beefed up frame, the Mojave may be the way to go. Otherwise you can save about $20K getting the Sport S with Max Tow package. which leaves room for a lot of upgrades and money left over. If you are going to be ripping the Mojave parts off it probably doesn't make a lot of sense to buy one, but everyone has their own reasons for what to buy.

I personally think the Max Tow is one of the better ways to go and you get a lot for a little bit of extra money.

Build each one and see what they come up to, ain't no where near $20,000!
I just built three trucks with equivalent tow package "Max Tow" Mojave doesn't get the Max Tow springs so does not tow as much as Sport or Sport S, with MaxTow rear springs.
.
Sport (base price $33,700) with Max Tow pacakge V-6 Gas and auto trans....... $37,655
Sport S (base price $38,750) with Max Tow and V-6 Gas and Auto trans.................$42,890
Mojave or Rubicon (base price $44,240 with tow package, V-6 Gas /auto trans...$47,130
So I see the difference being about $10,00 between a base Sport and base Mojave. You need to do the work, go to Jeep.com and build a couple jeeps, I must have built ten, before settling on a Mojave nicely loaded at $55,000, but test drove a stick shift Mojave that was $47,000, even posted it here long ago.
That said for most people a Mojave or Rubicon, or Overland can do what they realistically need, and if power windows, door locks, U connect 7 are things you want the price starts catching up.....just saying the difference is not that much......Jack

I paid $37,100 out the door for my Base max Tow and it came with a HardTop, soft top, tinted windows and spray in bed liner. It's the best option out there if you not looking for all the bells and whistles. I'm more of a build it the way I want kinda guy.

It depends on what type of lift you are getting... the mojave’s are awesome but if you replace the suspension you are replacing a good portion of what makes a mojave a mojave and 10k would build a pretty good sport... on the other hand if you’re willing to sell me the mojave suspension for cheap then you should definitely get a mojave

Why not between the Max Tow and a Rubicon?

The Mojave does have a selectable locker... just one... the frame is stronger because it’s coated with Cryto Gel. If you don’t have a boyfriend, then it’s probably because you don’t have a Mojave.... I crack myself up ?

If you start tearing into things & upgrading shit then a Mojave or Rubicon is probably not the best bet. Value wise a Max Tow sport S will get you more bang for the buck after several months of waiting on parts & lots of time on the lift. To take it one step farther though a non max tow opens up more options & nets even more. Especially if you can get it for a better discount. I searched long & hard to get a HELL of a deal on a Max Tow & to do over again I would of skipped the max tow package & just replaced the axles with Dana 60's instead of upgrading the Max Tow widetrack axles.

I didnt realize how much I was going to do.. But there is entirely too much I had already upgraded that I would of had to replace again to do the D60's when I finally decided to upgrade my Max Tow axles. Doing it all at once up front through I may of actually broken even doing D60's from the start.
