I have a new Mojave with the stock 33's.
I'm always reading where folks change out the tires right after they buy their Gladdy. I would like to do that but I hate to just waste new tires that have less than a thousand miles on them. I've already got a bumper and a bunch of stock lights that are all new.

Are y'all getting any trade-in value for the stock tires that you take off or are you just sticking them back in the garage or storage shed and absorbing the loss??
Guess I could check with a tire place for this answer but wanted to ask those with more experience in this field first.

I left my OE tires on the wheels and put them in storage when I moved to 35s.

Not aware of any trade-in value but you could sell them.

It will depend on your market. In SoCal, tire shops might give $1k for a full set of 5 wheels and tires from a JL rubicon, because they sell quickly in this region.

I feel exactly the same way about my tires, there is nothing wrong with them so why mess with them now? I might buy new rims and tires at some point, but it will likely be about 3 years down the road unless I find some really good deal on a set of Rubicon take-offs. If I do, I'll be trying to sell my existing because I don't like storing things with a shelf life, like tires.

New Rubicon tires/wheels (4) usually sell for $800-$1,000, depending on the wheel style.

My LE set is in storage with the spare on a new LE rim instead of the original steelie. Mine have 5k on them when I switched to 37s on AEV Borahs. I kinda like keeping the original rims for the Launch Edition and figured 5k miles might not interest a buyer. I may run the tires on my 2012 jk, it will need some shoes

Are you talking tires and wheels OP or just tires?

And I said the same thing as several of you. I'll keep the 33s until they wear out. No point replacing good rubber. Until I wanted the lift and Methods. Soooo... 12k miles or so later, the 33s are in storage on the LE wheels.

I do debate selling the set though.

Hendricks bought mine back from me for $400 for a set of 4 tires. They weren't 33's but the smaller ones but I had mine off the jeep the next day so they only had like 60 miles total on them.

There is a market for them. Plenty of Sport owners buy them to upgrade their small tires. I sold my stock Willys KM2 mud tires for $700. Just the tires.

Sell them private party, on here or Craigslist. You will sell them fast for 800, wait a little longer you could get $1000. Don’t mess w the dealer

No kidding. After 3 months, I ended up getting $200 for mine. Some guy wanted them for a lifted Cherokee.

Oh, and to answer one question you asked, I am pleased with the wheels so was really only considering the tires.
