Can I please see some photos of rear facing infant seats installed in the back seat. Which ones allow for the most room still in the passenger seat? Currently thinking about the Graco snug fit, but it’s big. Thanks.

What seat you get is less important than.

1) where you put the seat. It should be in the middle position if you can. Its the safest place in the vehicle.

2) the seat is installed correctly. A cop friend told me that they and the Fire Dept will occasionally offer checks where they will confirm that baby seats are installed correctly. He said that some of the stuff he's seen is just terrible. Like over half of the seats are installed incorrectly.

3) The child is strapped in tight. I always strapped them in like it was a racing car. Starting from day 1. They got used to it and it never botehered them.

Thanks. I’m short but hoping I can reach the middle seat since it’s safer. But if not I wanted to see how the setup behind the passenger seat would be. And thankfully, local police will check seat install for us.

This isn't a great photo of the three car seats, but three Clek Fllo car seats fit well in the back seat. We had one rear-facing at the time and I didn't have to adjust the driver's seat much at all to do it and I am 6'0". It is a pain to get them all installed and removed though!

Oh yeah. And wait until you take them out. I would remove all of them a couple of times per year to clean the car and I swear there was an entire box of Cheerios back there. Ha.

i went with graco extend2fit in the jeep.

front passenger room is perfectly fine. I'm 6'1 and had my wife DD my car one night and I fit in the passenger seat without it touching the car seat. Keep in mind this is for a toddler. You need more lean for an infant which will impinge upon front seating space.

"middle is the safest" i know, but i'm not sacrificing my entire back seat. sitting on an outboard seat with a carseat in the middle is a bit tight. My wife rides in the back with my son when I take my front doors off, since I wouldn't want to take the rears off with him in the car and the wife hates not having doors on.

I also have an extend-to-fit and I have to say don't plan on using the extensions unless you can move the front seat up a bit. My youngest is now 26 months old and ~26 lbs so technically I could turn him around front facing but haven't bothered to yet. His legs are a bit cramped without the extensions so as soon as he puts a few more lbs on I might switch it up.

Don't have these in a Gladiator (yet) but if they have fit in the rear seat of my current GTI - you will be good. Took them to a test drive, and others have reassured me in similar posts.

I have a Diono Radian 3QXT which has the infant inserts and can be used from infant all the way up to a booster. Use this for my toddler now. Dionos are the most compact, and I chose the 3QXT cause it adds some more side bolstering/protection.

Now, for an infant, I have the Uppa Baby mesa. It uses a snap in base and you can then move the basket to snap into a stroller or just carry in to put in a grocery cart, take into day care, etc. Plus, you can just buy an extra base and move the expensive part between multiple cars (which helps if you have different pickups and drop-offs for day care situation). This one is super compact - fit behind the drivers seat of the GTI.
