Hello all,
Just had new wheels installed on my 2023 Mojave. I got 17x9s because when these 33s ware out I will put on 35x12.5s. The wheels have a 1mm offset with 5" backspacing. They fit the 33s fine and really look good.
My only concern is I have about 1.8 inches of "polk" on both the front and rear. Stock it had less than .5 inch.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the look. My only concern is the added stress too much polk puts on front end parts, especially the ball joints. I did order some Mopar 1" fender extenders.
So my question is how much polk is too much for front end parts.
Thank you for your time,

You mean "poke" as it poking out? That's nothing to worry about there.

Polk is a proper noun, i.e. a name. 🤓

That looks great! I agree, nothing to worry about in terms of stress. And 1 mm offset is just fine in terms of looks and room for 35" tires. The wide track axles on your mojave give you a little more room to work with. I've got the same model and run +25mm offset AEV (Borah) wheels with 35" tires with no problem. On my older JK, I ran wheels with a -12 mm offset and felt like it started to poke a little too much.

Nice wheel choice! Looks great. The perfect amount of poke IMO! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing service from Discount tire. Travis had my wheels mounted in less than an hour and did a great job. Even put "smutz" on my tires.

People Work?
You're in Florida, so no worries about road salts. Just sand, rain, and mud will be hitting the sides. Rain will be daily.
You certainly bought more poke than you needed though.

Thanks Lunentucker,

Not a daily driver, just for fun. I agree that it is a little more than I would like but if it does not hurt anything I am fine with it.
Actually rides very nice.

Something... something... software.
"Big poke" has saved me on more than one occasion, by bumping into something with the tire at low speed, vs hitting the fender first.
