I installed a set of Installed DiodeDynamics Elite Max today. They look awesome but that install was a lot harder than expected. That being said, I’m glad I didn’t know or I would have gone OEM LED and these are way better.

Connecting to the fender wires to use
the turn single feature was a nightmare. I almost took the fender off the passenger side but finally got it. If my fingers were any shorter I don’t know how I would have done it.

I also ended up notching my fuse cover because otherwise the fuse tap was getting pinched pretty bad. I’m not sure if there was something I was missing but I couldn’t find anything online.

The passenger light barely fits depth wise with the connector plugged in. There is a lot of pressure on the wiring harness from what I can see.

I couldn’t figure out any way to adjust the aim without taking the lights in and out.

Anyway, I love them, but thought I would share my install experience.

Ecodiesel? I did the install yesterday and had the same complaints. I had to remove the air intake on the driver side to adjust and didn't even bother on the passenger side. Add into the mix the Smittybilt Stryker bumper and I had to pretty much disassemble my entire front end to install them. They do look great tho!!

Nope, just the 3.6. I probably should have just taken the fenders off and saved myself some pain.

Ecodiesel here. My install was a chore. I had to loosen up my bumper and winch to get them in, and adjustment was almost impossible with them in their mounted position. I adjusted them most of the way outside of the vehicle, but I modified the adjustment tool to make it shorter to fit and used some channel locks to finish the job. If @Diode Dynamics makes any sort of socket attachment for adjusting the lights, I would buy it now because I would like to make some more adjustments.

I have the Ecodiesel and so the fuse box is ~2" from the passenger headlight and the air box is 1" from the driver. The blinker connectors are in the same locations and were pretty rough t0 get to. The bumper is ~.5" from the grille.

Just tested them out and really need to readjust because they are aimed too low. Looks like I’ll be making something to adjust them inside or pop them back out again.

Got them adjusted better using the measurement directions on the site and by comparing to my wife’s JLUR OEM LEDs now. I had to take the driver side to the max up adjustment while the passenger still has a lot of room left.

I’m still not completely satisfied with the driver’s height but it might just be getting used to the sharper cutoff

From what I read it is for the proximity feature that turns on the lights when you approach. It isn’t terrible, I just used a dermal to make a small hole.

I installed my elite (non-max) back in december i think, so it's been a while. My memory is dropping the fender flare liners was the much easier method for getting the turn signals connected. That being said, don't try to drop a liner unless you have some plastic pop rivets and a small rivet gun handy.

As for the pinch of the wire running out the battery, on a 3.6 you just need to route the wire out the driver's side of the fuse box where there is room. no pinching or cutouts necessary.

Thank you sir, I appreciate the information. If you were to do it all again, would you purchase the same lights or upgrade to elite max or go to Oracle? Its a lot of money and I only want to cry once and not regret my decision. I do not want to have to cut any factory wiring and do not want to deal with the dealership are a couple of the reasons to go with Diode Dynamics. I am thinking no max elite because really how many times would the offroad lights be used. Thanks again for your information.

I have the Oracles and for the price, I think they are good. I wanted the DD Elites because of their reputation but it was more than what I wanted to spend. Oracle has good customer service but they've been called upon in too many instances because of quality control but they do provide assistance/replacements. I think, at the end of the day, how much do you want to spend.

i opted against the maxs because i do not currently offroad at night, so offroad mode was unnecessary. I also happen to dislike the look of the max's additional DRL bars (thought to be understanding you can turn those off). If i had it to do over, I'd do it the same way again.

Thank you all for your feedback and support on this thread!

Our team is consistently tracking, monitoring, and implementing changes to our products to be the best in the industry.

For anyone wondering, our Elite Series headlights are the highest performance option on the market compared to any other 9" assembly offered!

The OEM Mopar headlights were the leader until the Elite Series headlights entered the game.

We'll be releasing a comparison shootout here between our lamps and competitors on YouTube soon!

Can you address adjusting the headlights? Mine are now installed but I need to adjust them. Do I really need to remove them to adjust?
