Installed these today to replace the “upgraded Alpine” speakers. Major improvement. I can hear the whole range of my music now. Clearer highs and improved mid-bass. The bad thing is now I want to upgrade all the speakers. $$$

for whatever reason I went through two sets of those before having to switch to a different brand because they kept blowing out on me. I don't listen to anything super loud either, some of the audiobooks I listen to have some popping noises at times though and I'm thinking the bass from that might have done them in even with resistors wired up on them.

My infinity reference 6x9"s in the bar have been perfect though and I have infinity 6.5" going in the knee spot once I get around to taking the interior apart enough to do them

I put a set of 307’s in the 3.5” spot in the soundbar in back as well in the front dash. Much better balanced sound. Plays way louder than than it used too and much cleaner highs and mids.. I am a long time 2-channel home music enthusiast, and do a lot of dedicated music listening with my home setup, and I feel no need to upgrade anything further in my 2023 Mojave.. Sure the subwoofer is lacking, but not enough for me to lose my storage under the back seat to install a better sub. And it plays more than loud enough, even with the freedom top off and all windows down cruising on the highway 55+.. I don’t even have to max out the volume like I used to with the alpine speakers..

These sound a lot better than the Kenwoods IMHO. Mine have developed a rattle though. The Kenwoods did too. Might be the mounting, or the lower dash again. I’ll have to check. They screw into cheese.

Interesting, I’m guessing you got some bad sets of 307’s or something. I can max out the system with 307’s in the front and the back without any hint of strain.. What resistors are you talking about? They come with small capacitors wired already into the 307’s. They also come with some much larger capacitors in the box that you can use to block the lower frequencies, however with the way the Alpine internal crossovers are configured, the 3.5 speakers do not receive the mid bass or the lower frequencies, so there is no need to install them..

How did you wire up the sound bar speakers? I've heard all the speakers are wired in parallel in the sound bar. Replacing one set requires something extra?

I learned a long time ago about soundproofing stereo equipment. Every time I deal it with, I make sure all the hard pieces have something soft attached to eliminate rattles. Those rattles are like nails on a chalkboard to me. 😵💫

I replaced the sound bar speakers in my 21 Mojave with two 3.5in and two 4in Kicker speakers and they each had their own connections, I was even able just plug the speaker wire into the adapter plugs of the jeep so I didnt have to cut and crimp although probably will eventually but wanted to test before I cut anything. So you can do this with a screwdriver and allen wrench. Same with the dash speakers, except having plastic pry tool to pop off the speaker cover will reduce the chance of marring anything

Yeah, I understand they are wired separately at the speaker. I'm talking about downstream. From what I've read, the two sound bar speakers receive the same signal and in order to get the full benefit of a replacement you need to separate the two speakers. Maybe I'm not making sense. I will look up the other thread tonight.

From what I understand, the “upgraded” Alipne 3.5” “tweeter/midrange” (that suck btw) in the front dash and the 4” mid-bass drivers for the knee speakers upfront are identical to the 3.5” tweeter/midrange and 4” mid-bass driver in the soundbar. There is nothing special that has to be done to swap out the 307’s for the Alpine 3.5’s in the sound bar. It is exactly the same as replacing the front dash 3.5’s (besides having to use self tapping screws because the holes don’t line up).. Try it, and you’ll see what I mean, it sounds night and day better than having those stock/“upgraded” Alpine 3.5’s installed..

Don’t get me wrong the 4” mid bass drivers are not great by any means, but in my experience, they are much less noticeable as far as sound quality (especially in a truck) than the high frequencies and midrange that the 3.5” drivers supply.
If the knee speakers were not such a PITA to replace though, I would replace both sets of 4” mid bass drivers too. I used to have a kickass JL audio system that I installed in my Mustang (including the custom sealed subwoofer in the trunk). But for my Mojave with just the two pairs of 307’s installed front and back, it more than meets my needs. Again, if I didn’t care about the backseat storage, I’d install a nice sub and then I probably would deal with the hassle of changing the 4” midbass drivers, and install a separate amp as well..
For me personally, not worth the time/hassle and money. For me this 307 upgrade more than meets my needs..😉🍻

So you guys are using the Infinity 3.5” 2 way speaker in the soundbar and letting the crossover filter the sound to it? That still sounds better?

WAY better, not even close..
People don’t seem to understand that the “upgraded” Alpine 3.5” driver has the midrange AND the high frequency’s being sent to it. The 4” driver in the sound bar and knee speakers are only for the mid bass frequencies, and the subwoofer takes care of the low frequencies (well kinda).
Just because the 307 is a 2-way design does not mean anything, it is still designed for high frequency and midrange reproduction (and does it WAY better than the stock alpines) it actually can handle the mid bass too, but no need with the 4” mid bass driver installed upfront and in the sound bar. And actually since the alpine crossover filers out the mid bass and directs those frequencies to the 4” driver, the 307’s play that much clearer because they are not taxed with the mid bass frequencies..🍻
