I have been wanting to lift my Overland with a 3" lift for some time now. So far I have put 35" tires on the stock suspension which has been good on the streets. I recently took it to the sand dunes and did see some tire rubbing and want to get the lift now. When I took my Overland for its first oil change/maintenance, I asked the service rep about having some loose steering and wanted to know if qualify for the TSB for the steering. He told me he would have his technician take a look into the matter. When I went to get my Overland back, the service rep said his technician did not notice any looseness during his test drive and blamed the wheel and tire setup for the looseness. I want to know if I should keep bugging the dealership for the TSB or should I proceed with the lift without the TSB?

Can you find another dealership? Before I traded my Jeep in...all I had to do was say wondering and they wrote me up for a steering box. They didn’t even look at my Jeep...they just ordered the part. I would never expect my dealership to say the wheels have caused the steering issue...heck they are putting lifts and 37x20s on their inventory.

Find another dealer, or get JeepCares involved. Remind them that the TSB requires no diagnosis. It says to complete the TSB if the customer complains about specific issues. There are several threads about it, get a updated copy of the TSB. Definitely get it done before installing a lift.

@JeepCares thank you for helping me get the TSB for my gladiator! It did take longer than usual due to the holidays but my steering box has been replaced. The gladiator steering response has improved significantly.
