Hi and welcome.

Honestly, you got great questions.

I’ll just say… a throttle controller will be a 3 minute upgrade to make you ou like the truck more.

Good luck with your decisions

Ps I have an idrive

Sold a 2017 GTI (manual transmission) to purchase a Rubicon JT (automatic). Yeah, the giddy-up on the JT is dismal in comparison. So is its braking and cornering ability. Don't even ask about MPG. Maintaining 80mph on the interstate is a competition between how much noise can the engine make vs the wind vs how fast can it drink all the gas. If I need to get going I stomp on the go button and it get's going well enough. May sound like the engine's about to explode but it hasn't yet. Never going to beat anything from a stop or a rolling start.

That being said I find the JT so much more fun to drive. I can't explain why because on the street it's way worse at everything.

When you open up the roof or take the doors off...there's no comparison at all to any other vehicle (other than jeeps obviously). There's a lack of places to off-road here unless you really like mud so I haven't really done much of that but the GTI would scrape on driveways and I had to steer around puddles.
Love hearing that a former GTI owner is having MORE fun driving the JT!

Thank you for the experiences. Both of the above are very helpful.

While I brought one car seat to try at a dealership, didn't have two, nor able to try and fit someone in the middle.

On the throttle controller - I am seeing a few options out there, and plan to add one now, which one did you use?
I got an iDrive, but there’s been a lot of discussion on these on the forum (you can search for the threads to read through if you like) but from everything I’ve read you can’t go wrong with any of them.

Mojave is the softest rider of the bunh (relatively speaking). It is optimized for fast driving on dirt roads with a lot of ups and downs in the path kinda analogous to going over waves in the ocean...And it works with aplomb.

As far as power, I've driven V8s at my life, but for a 6 cylinder I found the power (only got it 2 months ago) surprisingly very-robust (after all the bitching I've seen in some moto-rags, and even on the forum sometimes about lack of power). I don't know if the Mojave is geared differently, but the acceleration for a 6C is great.

It rides like a dream (truck wise) both on and off road and has all the advance off road features one can ask for given what it was optimized for.

Altough I got the tow package, I don't tow generally, but I might so wth, I like to be prepared I need it.

Take it in for warranty then. There may be an issue with it.
Already have, everything checks out as being “normal” from a suspension perspective. The overland is gonna be the best riding of the trims.

Well, here is what I can tell you, out of all the hundreds of MO owners here, I have never heard anyone refer to it as a trashy ride, except a very few who had issue (almost all fixed subsequently)...And even the Moto rags acknowledge that it rides better (overall) than the Rubi (of course Rubie does better on the rocks).

There is something wrong with your MO if you are compelled to call it a trashy ride.

Take it to another dealer.

It is bud, rides very badly, they checked underneath everywhere when I took it in too and shocks for leaks and service manager said everything is normal. I’ve taken it to multiple dealers, they all say the same.

I do know for sure that the Mojave or the Rubicon aren’t gonna ride better than the Overland does.

Can you be a more specific in what you mean by "rides badly"? Just saying it rides badly is not very descriptive. Is it throwing you out of your seat when you hit a bump, is the steering bothering you, or what is it?

Has pulled to the left since 400 miles after I got it and those were all miles I put on it with the exception of 9 from the factory. It’s just very jarring when going over bumpy roads, can literally feel every bump magnified by 10.

Have you taken a service manager on a ride and show them or told them about your concern?

That video doesn't show any problem. Turn off the music and let us hear the ride.

That doesn't show enough problem. Turn off the music and let us hear the ride.
It pulls to the left and has since 400 miles like I said, service manager saw it and had them replace the steering box and after a short time it started doing the same thing, and as far as the ride he’s rode in it with me too and ignores the fact that it rides very rough.
