Is icing on LEDs really a problem?

Did icing affect your LED headlights this winter?

In light snow or driving around town, it is not an issue to the point where it impacts light output significantly. However, during heavy snow and long highway driving, I have had to get out every 10-15 miles because the snow and ice had caked on to the point where the lights did not project more than 10 feet in front of me. I ended up putting some 55w halogen Hellas on my bumper for driving in heavy snow.

I think it has more to do with Jeep's flat front cowl and recesses for lights that tends to cause accumulation.

Following this logic, this has been a problem since the YJ then.

And at the risk of sounding aggressive, what the fuck people? Has slick aero design made us all so spoiled that the act of cleaning off the truck in a god damned snow storm is now some unfathomable hardship?

::big deep breath::

Yeah, the recessed lights don't help but with my flat glass H4's pumping serious watts, they still crust over. I'm not convinced it's the problem the swag sellers want to tell us it is. Or maybe I don't mind getting out. ?
