My wife is gaga over the Gladiator but we have an issue. She uses a manual wheel chair and the foot print for the chair lifter consumes almost 50% of the available OEM pickup bed. Is there an after market solution any one is aware of. She will never go off roading so approach/departure angles are not an issue.

TIA

People Work?
The only aftermarket I've seen was shorter.

Do you need more width or length?
I have seen a couple done in flatbed online.

I suppose you could buy another bed from a salvage and have a shop cut, splice, and paint.

Someone has a flatbed setup for the JT. It is in this mess somewhere.

I carry a foldable lightweight power chair in the bed. It weighs about 60 pounds including batteries. I am able to access the chair, deploy it easily. Putting it back in the bed is very easy as well.

Should be plenty of options on the hitch receiver, would that not work?
Possibly but I think that means no actual towing. We'd prefer to drop the chair in the truck bed. I'm looking at bed extender solutions but they seem to come up a little short too.

One of my high school friends was paralyzed from the waist down from a tree cutting accident .He had a lift that came up out of the bed .Worked good

What kind of towing? Might it be easier to mount the chair onto the trailer?

Also, a bed extender could run you into the front of a trailer. I know that depending on which trailer I have hooked up, I cannot open my tailgate without hitting the tongue jack.

That's what we have - Bruno PUL 1100
