Just took delivery today of my new 2021 Mojave. So very excited as it is my first Jeep!
I'm one of those fellas who like to shift gears so I got the manual six.

While in my gravel driveway, I stopped, took it out of gear, depressed the clutch and tried to take it out of 2H and go to 4H and 4L. I was able to finally do it, but I have to say it was like pulling the horns off of a cow to get it to make the shift. Is this a typical experience for the Jeeps when going into four wheel drive?

I plan on asking the dealer if that is to be expected, and I am diving into the owners manual now, but I wanted to ask the group and your vast experience.
thanks

Going from 2H to 4H works best if you are going forward at about 2mph. It is difficult at first, but eventually loosens up and gets easier.

Both of mine were stiff as hell to start with.....moving slightly like mentioned above does help it engage fully and more smoothly. It'll loosen up with time and reps.

A side note.......make sure you have it fully seated/locked in 4 lo, my first gladiator jumped out of 4 lo twice, once while climbing a steep ass slippery hill......I thought I was going in the lake for a second.

Our Wrangler was almost impossible to get in 4WD/4WD Lo when we first got it.
Thought I was going to break the lever.
Its got better, but its still very stiff and takes a bit of effort.
Almost always have to be moving a bit.

The Gladiator is pretty easy.
It slips in and out with reasonable effort and have done it a few times even not moving.
No clue why there is a difference, but the differences are very noticeable.

Thanks to the good advice I've gotten here, I have made sure to be moving slowly and have shifted in and out several times. I can definitely tell it is getting better. Plus, I am getting more in tune with it's "nuances."

thanks,
