So, 4 tires, pickup bed, and a removable top makes the Gladiator look like a Model A...

Y'all must be really susceptible to beer goggle syndrome...

So I'm going to go out on a limb here. So stay with me for a minute, but I'm going to say that the Gladiator has a lot of similarities with this too.

Which is weird because I see some similarities to this and it doesn't even have a truck bed.

It's almost like the designers at Jeep used nostalgic Jeep styling, which was a simplified utilitarian design based on current and historical designs of its time, and then integrated it into the modern design of the Wrangler which due to costs and marketing was used to design and build the Gladiator. I'm just making some assumptions here though.

These are closer to the looks of the gladiator than a "A". The lineage really does show through.

What makes me LOL about these two though, is they both have what were regarded as the best offroad tires for something like 30 years, and if you couldn't get to where you were going with them something was wrong with you. Has anyone ever seen these tires wear out? Rubicon trail was travelled often with Jeeps like these. Yet now you must have a minimum size of 37 to go anywhere...

I'll side with ya OP! Someone should photoshop the Ford with a double cab. Then the similarities will really come out.

I think a lot of your visual comparison is based on the body line created by the fender flares "connecting" by the running boards.

You ditch those running boards and the whole comparison falls apart.
looks more like a Scrambler

Ah yes, the old "I can make it look however I want with Photoshop" argument.

I can Photoshop a tuxedo onto a turd and claim it's similar a penguin, but I'd still be missing the point.
