I could have sworn the 4.88 was available with 3.6/auto.
I’ve been wrong before AND earlier in the am than this.

I couldn't have argued one way or another - I had to go check myself.

Just turns out I usually have coffee and a few free minutes every morning 😬

Currently on Jeep.com, if you pick 4.88, it changes the transmission to the 6 speed.

But with how the website and ordering are, I'm not sure that means anything. 😆

You are correct Chris.
Can't even get the V6 unless you get the manual trans.
Unless you opt for the 392 Moab.
The way Jeep makes you choose this or that to get what you want is getting old.

As far as I know, they can't either. Well - not with the same flexibility I look at it as.

Rubicon comes with 4.10s standard.

If you get the 4.56 gears you must get the 2.0 and the XR Package.

If you select 4.88 you must go back to the 3.6L and the 6 speed manual.

I assume they offered the 4.88s like that only because they have figured out how terrible the gearing is in the 6 speed finally.

So, you aren't really picking to pick. It's tied to something major / a package.

Whereas on the Ram for example, you can build a Hemi Ram (that comes with 3.21 gears) and option 3.92 gear on it with what seems to be zero other changes. You just option some gears.
Years prior you could have 4.56 (still XR package though) with the 3.6 and auto:

Can't get them new anymore but you can used!

The Rock Ready package was intersting until they said it's done aftermarket.
My understanding is, all of the "add-ons" are done in Mopar's custom shop, they go to it after production to get their mods done. Like spray in bedliners, and the upgrades to Rubicon and Mojave, etc. Rubicon X will get it's Bilstein shocks, Mojave gets it's fox shocks, etc. At least that's my understanding of what happens.

That green is my second favorite color!
Funny you say that…. I’d never thought I’d like it either, but its growing on me.
My husband would hate it. 😁

The Rock Ready stuff is done by Gear Vehicles, which seems to be affiliated with Mopar - but I'm not certain if this is done at the Mopar Custom Shop. They posted about it a couple months ago on Facebook. A 35" tire and etc package on Gladiators.

Gear Vehicles is located at:

271 Northland Blvd, Cincinnati, OH, United States, Ohio

According to their FB. Whether or not that's where the work is done, who knows.

But it's just a package you either buy already on the Jeep because a dealer had one in stock, or a package you have done to the new Jeep you are buying via the dealer, but this doesn't appear to be anything that will be in the builder. It's between you and your dealer.

Ridiculous to say that all Gladiators have the same 0-60 time. The different gearing and tire sizes means a multitude of different 0-60 MPH times.

So let me get this straight, Jeep cancelled the six speed manual but if you order the 4.88 gears you have to have a six speed manual--highly unlikely. More likely is the stupid website is just wrong.

Sure, some minor differences, but it's the same 285hp driving it. yeah, it ranges from 7.2 to 8.5 seconds depending on options. lol Like does it matter 7 or 8 seconds? Not really Not really ridiculous i think to say Gladiator's 0-60 times are in the 7-8 second range and pretty much irrelevant inasmuch as being different. Slow is slow. LOL is my point.
