I attached a picture below. You can see that there is a protective film or wrap or something on the fender. It is a little hard to see but the edge of it has a water stain after the car wash so it stands out. I never noticed it until today.

It looks like a protective film. I never heard about this in any of the videos about the Gladiator and haven’t read about it on this forum. I’m hoping \ guessing this is on every gladiator with body color painted fenders. Does anyone have a definitive answer on what this is and if it is on other Gladiators?
Thanks
Chris

I'm not sure if it's standard with painted fenders, but those are there to protect the paint against road debris kicking up and chipping the paint because they stick out from the body.

Yes they were on my gladiator that I ordered from the factory. Except mine had scratches underneath the clear film. Declined delivery of the Rubicon because of the scratches there and several others. Was told by others on this forum the scratches came from the transport company and they tried to cover the scratches with clear film as a conspiracy theory LOL. ABSOLUTELY THE SILLIEST THING I HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME.
You got to love those die hard know it alls that think Jeep can do no wrong.

It's PPF - Paint Protection Film - installed at the factory. The issue with it is, it's far too small of a piece of PPF and, with the low, low cost of the film, they should be ashamed of themselves for not covering the full width and bringing it up over the top of the forward-facing surfaces giving the rear fenders full protection.

The good news is you can cover it with a larger piece in a pretty easy DIY project

Yes, it is on all painted fenders. Your front fender has full coverage while the rear has that little rectangle for frontal attacks.

Careful removing that PPF it’ll lift the paint in some cases. I didn’t get painted fenders this time for that reason. Will paint them then add PPF
