The current crop has the antenna imbedded in the windshield.

After speaking to weigh safe, they think my 16ft airstream won’t have enough tongue weight, they recommend atleast 500 pounds of tongue weight.

In saying this what do you people recommend for a hitch with weight distribution that will support under a 500 pound tongue weight.

On mt 2022 I took the antenna mast off for a while. I figured - why is it even there? I haven't listened to standard radio for a long time - can't stand most of the crap on it anyway. I finally put it back on when my wife noticed months later.

2024 did put the antenna in the windshield - guys, my sales person says you don't want to have to buy one of THOSE windshields........

Yes, and the first thing my son pointed out - it's asymmetrical.
he asked why would any designer make it so one-sided instead of even across the class?

GM started embedding the antenna in the glass many decades ago - and I recall it was perfectly balanced and a very fine wire you had to look for to see, not the big ugly thing FCA has done to these today.

That’s odd , I went to their website ,threw some numbers into their calculator had options but a note at bottom of page said for their WDH to work correctly you must have at least 350 pound tongue weight, so person saying works best with at least 500 is a little concerning, perhaps a call back to verify asking why the difference .Five hundred is starting to be a lot of hitch weight for small campers and Jeep requires WDH for anything above 2,000 lbs . A 2,000 pound trailer should have a tongue weight of between 200-300 pounds, my 24’ camper has a tongue weight of 380 pounds. I called Blue Ox about my sway pro hitch I bought used , the girl answering the phone had answers for all my questions including bar weight rating, which was for my 380 tongue weight I would need to go to the bar that is as close to that number but not under , in my case 500 lb. bars , next step was 750 bars. You like the Andersen lot of people do , give them a call and ask again.
