Jeep steel front bumper

I’ve got a jeep on order for my wife and selected the steel bumpers option. Is the front steel factory bumper winch ready? I’ve never looked at one closely and all mine had cheap plastic bumpers that were quickly swapped for aftermarket so I know nothing about the factory steel option. The only reason I selected the option was because I knew she would never want to go to an aftermarket unit.

You will just need the winch plates and remove the cover plates on the bumper for the fairlead and all.

It is winch capable, but they do not have a winch mount. You would need to get one from Rugged Ridge or Warn in order to get the winch mounted. I went with the Rugged Ridge option and did have to drill out a couple of holes to allow for the factory skid plate to mount back up. The directions had all the info needed for the drilling out.

Based on how the online configurator is and also how one is purchased after the fact, no it's not winch ready.
When purchasing after the fact, the winch plate is extra, the fairlead is extra, the overrider bar is extra.

The MOPAR steel bumper is junk and not worth the money anyway. Plastic caps on the front? So dumb.

Its kind of winch ready in that the bumper itself is "winch ready" but there is no plate between the frame rails for the winch to sit on. Go warn or maximus 3 for the winch plate and it will sit nicely inside the bumper and install fairly easily.
