I'm curious if anyone else out there has gone through a dry period like I have of having to suspend my jeep license for about 10+ years, only to find entertaining the thought of experiencing the side-to-side rocking motion that is basically an iconic trait of a live-axle jeep's suspension once more with a certain amount of fondness, whereas some of those who have never spend much time in one think it's odd or even off-putting. Including the period where I had inherited mom's XJ starting in high school up until I had to pass it on to my brother (a good 5+ years of using it for my daily driver), we used that vehicle for the majority of my childhood, as the daily driver, vacation, and offroad vehicle, resulting in growing up thinking it's perfectly normal.

My old man had a j3000 thift side from somewhere in the mid 1960s. It had a sears am under dash radio and a single speaker. Armed with HD axles & springs and knobby bias ply tires, I spent many miles feeling every expansion joint and tar snake while enduring 660am WFAN. Imus in the morning, Mike and Mad Dog in the afternoon, Muts games. I still remember the smell of the brown vinyl upholstery mixed with an unending river of bar oil and mix gas.
