I've been to both. I don't have a preference. I think I'll say that Green at Rausch is much easier than green at Anthracite. AOAA is also a lot easier to navigate. All the trails lead back to the main road. Rausch is more technical, but I think the scenery at AOAA is amazing. The old abandoned mines are pretty cool to look at.I have only been to rausch never been to aoaa. Which do you like more if you have been to rausch too.
Actually, it's pretty close to Rausch. It's an old abandoned coal mine that was turned into an off-road park. It's "Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area"Where and what is AOAA?
AOAA is about 2 1/2 hours north of me...a little north of Harrisburg, PA. And yea, right near Rausch Creek.I've been to both. I don't have a preference. I didn’t get drawn for the bear lottery this year, so maybe next year and I’ll be out that way again. I’ll grab a beer with you if I draw next year. I have a hydro too.Hi from Cumberland
Sounds good!I didn’t get drawn for the bear lottery this year, so maybe next year and I’ll be out that way again. I’ll grab a beer with you if I draw next year. I have a hydro too.
Used to be a 17 mile loop at Green Ridge that was much more technical than anything else in Maryland. It’s been closed for several years for “environmental reasons.” There are still lots of gravel roads used by campers and hunters, but not sure how much they really require 4 wheel drive.Anyone ever go to green ridge? I saw a post on Facebook about it, looks fun.
Not the OffRoad park, just during bear hunting, lots of DNR only roads open.Anyone ever go to green ridge? I saw a post on Facebook about it, looks fun.
Not much, but out that way beyond Greenridge, there’s a small stretch of Dan’s Mountain I would not recommend if not a Jeep of sorts—my 2012 F-150 FX4 was too big, my 2018 JL was just right and I would take the JT for it.
