i personally ran a willys stock wheel off a 2015 Wrangler JK, wrapped in 315/70r17 and had rub at full tilt on the lower control arms.

smaller tire would have probably worked or wheel spacers. I also put a terraflex level kit on and it still rubbed.

yes, it can be done and i can send pics.

So, I've got a sport on order but I'm pretty sure the tires are going to be the first upgrade.

Now I've got a few options but the one that I think I like the most is using a set of 2014 Rubicon takeoffs that came off my current Wrangler with new rubber.. reuse something that the wife has been nagging about taking up garage space.

I've heard that the gladiator has heavier rims for the increased towing / pay load... But I can't seem to find any hard numbers on this just throw in comments from reviewers who are testing the gladiator for magazines and such.
Has anyone seen hard numbers on tire load ratings for JT vs JL vs JK?

Don't plan on pulling anything close to the max on this thing but I'd still like to know what limitations I might be introducing.
I took the wheels & tires off of my 2015 JKU Rubicon & swapped them out with ,my 2020 gladiator Rubicon, already had 35 x 12.5 BFG KM3s Working out fine.

MKay, did you have to use spacers with those wheels, if so what size.
Thanks ?

While waiting for new wheels to arrive, I had to throw on an extra set of JK wheels I had lying around. No issues with rubbing with factory size tires.

JKs never had a different lug pattern - true. 2007 and 2008 Sport models did have 16" wheels as stock.

So, seems my experience was different than most. I tried to swap out my stock 2021 (Texas Trail) wheels for 2016 Wrangler Sport stock pull offs (thought it would be nice to put most my highway miles on the Wrangler AT's and swap out for the Gladiator mud tires when going out to play). The front went on fine, but the rear callipers scraped the inside of the wheel. Checked the front again and realized the balance weights caught when trying to turn past the calipers. I don't know what is different between what I tried and what others have done, but I would highly recommend you try before you buy if you want to try wrangler wheels on your gladiator.
