>700 miles per tank (all highway of course) on my '15 wk2 overland ecodiesel makes for a good overland vehicle. If the JT gets that then it's a no brainer for me.
I love my ecodiesel on my wk2 (other then threat regen and def junk). Now it doesn't get 28-29 mpg anymore after all threat junk I've drove to it (more like 22-23 mpg) but compared to the 3.6 and 5.7 wk2 similarly equipped getting 18-19 highway it's still nice.
