Look at the rear lower control arms. They are still angled downward. Which says its not even close to being loaded down. Half the cab and the entire bed has been removed. That loss of weight allows for the extra weight of the box. Not to mention the weight is more centered over the rear axle allowing for better weight distribution.
The Gladiator didn't start off as a large payload vehicle. The loss of half a cab, rear seats and the bed is a great weight-loss program. But like others have said, the new storage area will not remain empty.

Hey, it looks sharp! I think I would have chosen a more durable platform. We had our 3/4 ton work truck striped down for a flatbed work platform. The flatbed with the storage cabinets was close to overweight. I'm sure that fire truck will be over overweight.

Theres no way you're getting 4 dudes in that thing. I see it as a great quick response vehicle. Carry EMS, rope rescue, extrication tools, etc. A mini-rescue really. I won't work for every city/dept across the country, but I see great potential under the right circumstances.
